We shouldn't have to buy ANY gifts her/his first christmas home!!!China Angel Awaitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03802038545747611840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1332852631017609217.post-31096145828293809852009-11-19T11:39:18.925-08:002009-11-19T11:39:18.925-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10250512785419117114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1332852631017609217.post-80563671187850505582009-11-18T07:13:55.108-08:002009-11-18T07:13:55.108-08:00I used to have this problem! Then we switched to the 3 gifts deal where each person gets a gold present (what they REALLY wanted, wrapped in gold paper) a frankincense present (something for your soul - a good book, music, etc. wrapped in white paper) and a myrrh (something for your body...clothes, jewelry, exercise stuff, etc.) wrapped in brown or green paper. We have a lot of fun with this and make it a big deal at our house. It helps to limit the chaos and also focus on the meaning of the holiday. Try it!
Also a Mom of 6,
Another AmyAmy Rankinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15863722248845615838noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1332852631017609217.post-90356397206860431122009-11-17T13:49:54.206-08:002009-11-17T13:49:54.206-08:00I have/had the same issue. I was trying so hard to create the perfect Christmas, but I don't think I was doing my kids any favors. I don't want them to think of Christmas as more greedy stuff. We put a number limit on the amount of gifts we give each child this year. I have to be more intentional about what I am buying, and guess what, I'm done shopping, that never happens. I'm actually really excited about the holidays because I am not going to be stressed!
Best of luck,
AmyAmyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10899336515005862996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1332852631017609217.post-46256033412067365252009-11-17T11:51:08.620-08:002009-11-17T11:51:08.620-08:00i don't know about the overbuying problem, bec...i don't know about the overbuying problem, because my heart stopped when i saw that beautiful little girl at the top! oh my goodness.
